His two-person exhibition with artist Larry Graeber, titled Formal Proof opened at Blue Star Contemporary in San Antonio on October 4. Shawn Camp was included in the show Warmly Persuasive this month at Tiger Strikes Asteroid in Los Angeles with other members of ICOSA. He also participated in the annual Red Dot fundraiser for Women and their Work gallery in Austin. Several of his works are included in the inaugural St. Edwards University Flatfle group exhibition in Austin as well. Jennifer Ling Datchuk's work is part of the Fulfllment Center and opened at the Black Cube Nomadic Museum in Denver on September 13. [ 1 ] Black Cube commissioned artworks that respond to the hidden aspects of ecommerce logistics. By bringing together innovative artworks by 18 local, national, and international contemporary artists, this exhibition considers the changing context of warehouses under the digital economy. Jennifer's ceramic and textile work "Loving Care" is included in Objects: Redux - How 50 Years Made Craft Contemporary at the Houston Center for Contemporary Craft. Te show runs until January 5. Jennifer's "Basic Bitch" is part of the 5th SUR:Biennial , independently curated exhibitions that explore the complex notions of globalization and exchange that takes place in the ambiguous borderlands between Los Angeles and the broader 'South.' She has multiple works in Closets: Reimaging Identities While Embracing Memories at New York University Tisch School of Arts Photography and Imaging Galleries. Curated by Deborah Willis, PhD and Kalia Brooks Nelson, PhD and runs until January 10. Nicole DesChamps-Benke presented at the 2019 Texas Metals Symposium in Lubbock on October 12th. Te Symposium coincided with the exhibition of the Not So Lone Star Studios: A Gathering of Texas Makers presented at the Museum of Texas Tech University. Artworks by each of the conference speakers are included in the exhibition. Erina Duganne’s interview with Brazilian-born multi- media artist Josely Carvalho was recently published in “Decolonizing Contemporary Latin American Art,” a special issue of Arts , edited by Florencia San Marin and Tatiana Flores. Joey Fauerso's solo exhibition Teardowns opened at Blue Star Contemporary in San Antonio on October 4th. [ 2 ] Joey gave a visiting artist lecture at the University of Wisconsin-Madison on October 9th. Tommy Fitzpatrick has a new painting in the Dallas Museum of Art’s 2 x 2 for Aids beneft at the Rachofsky House in October. He has a solo show of his paintings at Midway CITYCENTRE in Houston organized by Inman Gallery and the Weingarten Art Group. Tommy gave a lecture on his show Working Model currently on view at Texas A&M. Te talk was part of a university wide research symposium. Brittany Ham has been selected for the 2020 Blue Star Contemporary Berlin Residency Program/Künstlerhaus Bethanien International Studio Program. She will live and work in Berlin, Germany from January-April this spring. Brittany participated in Can We Talk: Te Status of Women in San Antonio , a pop-up exhibition featuring woman artists in the San Antonio art community. Te exhibition accompanied a feminist discussion panel, and took place at the Brick at Blue Star in San Antonio. She was interviewed by KLRN in San Antonio for the series Te Beat . She was featured in an artist profle where she spoke about her practice and her involvement with Clamp Light Artist Studios and Gallery. MiHyun Kim hosted a participatory interactive storytelling event at the Meadow Center for Water and the Environment at Texas State University during the Mermaid SPLASH festival on September 20. MiHyun is invited to be the digital design team lead for Landscape for Humanity project (L4H): Multifunctional Landscapes co-designed for Vulnerable Urban Populations at the University of Oregon. As part of L4H collective, the team recently received $30,000 grant from the University of Oregon Foundation Trustee Board Fund. Adetty Pérez de Miles has the following publication for 2019: "Street Art Interventions: Nuclear Cake & Atomic Ray Goats on the Rez," in A. Wexler & V. Sabbaghi (Eds.). Bridging Cmmunities Trough Socially Engaged Art (pp. 204-210) and Unbound Philosophies and Histories: Epistemic Disobedience in Contemporary Latin American Art . In J. Baldacchino (Ed.), Te International Encyclopedia of Art and Design Education , Volume 1. Histories and Philosophies of Art & Design Education . Adetty spoke at the Digital Frontiers conference held at the University of Texas at Austin, September 26-29. Her topic: "Beyond Trans Ally 1010: Context through Digitized Histories and Curricula." Elvia Perrin gave a visiting artist lecture and printmaking demonstration, in conjunction with Texas State Faculty Exhibition , University of Texas, Tyler on October 17. Elvia will feature some works on paper as a part of the inaugural; SEU Flatfle Invitational , St. Edward’s University, Austin. #ADVERTISINGAWARD Graphis released the Advertising Annual 2020 results where Genaro Solis Rivero received adjudicated work. Genaro was recognized with a Silver Award and was published in the Advertising Annual 2020 for a print advertisement he made for VOTE—a non-partisan initiative to increase voter discussion and participation in local, regional, and national elections.
